WindSeeker

Project Information

WindSeeker was chosen to be created as the result of a Facebook poll, 49% of the votes were in favor for WindSeeker of the four possible options. The amount of interactivity and votes is, as well as my own interests, fueled my passion to see this project through. WindSeeker had some technical hurdles to overcome in NoLimits 2, the first being the animation rigging. This model features cables, moving cabins, animated pulley wheels. There’s even a cable assembly featured half way up the tower like the real-world WindSeeker has. It all comes together and looks great!

There are also a few easter-eggs that are included in the project. In NoLimits 2, it is possible to alter the wind speed in the world, if this setting is high enough, WindSeeker will trigger an emergency stop sequence. The wind speed and direction also interacts with each swinging cabin, causing them to swing further out with the wind and retracting in when against the wind.

WindSeeker also allowed me to test out some NL2MAT shader code, the neon lighting with WindSeeker is a Red, Blue, and Green texture, the shader replaces these textures with user-selected colors.
